From the top of the ski lift, 1470 meters above sea level, you have a spectacular view of the glacier, the Hardangerfjord and the North Sea. The summer season at Fonna normally lasts from May to September, and we are open daily.
Here you will find the Fonna1199 restaurant with hot and cold dishes, drinks and snacks. The restaurant is located right at the edge of the glacier.

In recent years, Fonna Glacier Ski Resort has expanded the number of trails on the glacier. As a result, we now have something to suit all abilities - whether it's park, alpine or cross-country skiing.

The alpine trails in Fonna are suitable for experienced skiers with a large width and evenly groomed surface every day throughout the season (weather dependent). The trails are regularly salted to provide a firm surface - perfect for carving. How many places can you carve with a view of the Hardangerfjord in comfortable summer temperatures?

Every year we host several camps, private teams, university teams and not least many film companies looking for the legendary Fonna sunset.

From the trails, you have perhaps Norway's most beautiful views of the Hardangerfjord, the Rosendal Alps, Sør-Fonna and the North Sea. The cross-country ski trail is located at the top of the glacier. The terrain that follows behind the top station of the lift is even and perfect for cross-country skiing. The length of the trail varies from 2 kilometers to 5 kilometers - depending on the snow conditions. With experienced enthusiasts behind the controls, Fonna produces world-class cross-country ski trails for both classic and skating. We have our own equipment for optimal tracks and deliver basic salting with a hydraulic salt spreader. The trails are prepped and salted in June and July on request, weather permitting.
